Reflections from Aquila’s Summer 2023 Interns

Aquila’s internship programme is now complete for 2023. During this programme we have had three students from Loughborough University’s Micro Internship Programme work within our corporate services function and provide support to the Marketing, HR and Finance teams.

The interns have been based in our London office, gaining insight into each of our corporate functions and experiencing what it is like to work in a professional environment.

Below our 2023 interns reflect on their time with us.

Dellon Bamfo, Finance Intern

“My time at Aquila has been a wonderful experience. I initially applied to Aquila to gain an insight into the financial services industry, and I feel I have got a great understanding of that. I was given a wide variety of tasks each day and fully understood how my work was making an impact within the business, which was really empowering. I understood how to use Aquila’s financial software and Excel in more detail which will be useful when working within the corporate world!”

“My time at Aquila proved to be extremely insightful not only from a professional perspective but also from a personal one too. Surrounded by the expertise of my co-workers, I have been able to learn so much more than I thought. From navigating through financial documentation to constructing job descriptions, I can say that the internship was worth every second. Conducting the whole internship in person allowed me to network with multiple levels of the Aquila hierarchy and comprehend the overall structure and client base the company possesses. This internship, at a company which prioritises and values the growth of its employees, has equipped me with invaluable experience in which I can take with me into future working life.”

My past experience was limited to product and social media marketing, so this experience was really valuable. The team are great and I felt like a useful asset to the team during my time, and learned a great deal whilst I was there.”
