Reflections from Aquila’s Summer 2022 Interns

Over the past five weeks, Aquila’s Summer 2022 interns have been a pleasure to work with. We have had three students from Loughborough University completing a Micro Internship Programme, helping within our corporate services function across our subsidiaries.

The interns have been working alongside our Finance, HR and Marketing teams, gaining an insight into each of these functions and supporting specific projects.

Below our Summer 2022 interns reflect on their time with us.

Manroop Chatha, Finance Intern.

During my time at Aquila, I gained many valuable skills that you would need in an office setting. I became more confident with my excel skills and learned how to use financial software which is a great new skill to have. After the internship finished, I felt more confident in an office setting, and I would highly recommend this internship to others”.

Rachel Pearce, HR Intern.

“My time at Aquila allowed me to gain a broad insight into not just the HR role but also an office environment in a 9-5 job. Working in an SME, I was given the chance to experience many different aspects and roles that makeup HR. This has helped me to distinguish what department I could go into in the future”.

Robert Whitelegg, Marketing Intern.

“My time at Aquila was fast-paced, thoroughly enjoyable and has left me inspired about the housing sector and the role Aquila has to play in it. From day one I felt like a valued member of the team, with an opportunity to contribute to important work and make a difference. Throughout the five days I had a great time streamlining databases, with key opportunities to sharpen some of my Python and data handling skills along the way”.
