A day in the life of a Marketing Manager at Aquila

Working for Aquila I have the pleasure of being involved in a whole range of interesting projects which all have a positive impact on communities, people and society. Everyone who works at the group has a vast amount of experience and expertise which I can learn from, and no two days are ever the same.

As Marketing Manager for Aquila Services Group and each of the subsidiaries I oversee the marketing activity to a variety of sectors: housing, education, sport and charities, as well as being involved in diversity initiative Leadership 2025 which is challenging current perceptions and making positive change. My work is extremely varied and ranges from working on brand strategy for the group, to writing articles, organising events, webinars, and overseeing another team member who is responsible for the websites across the group, the social media and building collateral and case studies amongst other things. As a team we are spread across the London and Birmingham offices so we get to see everyone and enjoy both office cultures.

The group has a very open and flat structure and I really enjoy working with people from all areas and all levels of the business. The leadership team are supportive and approachable which shapes an environment that is easy to learn and develop within.

A typical day will begin with checking in on the industry news over a green tea, and then involve planning a marketing acquisition strategy for the group, writing an ebulletin for Altair, organising an event for ATFS Ltd, and helping to compose and conduct a sector wide survey.

I am often in meetings with people from the leadership teams to plan the next marketing campaign or working with external stakeholders to feature on the next webinar. My manager is very supportive and the flexible working opportunities enable me to manage my time most effectively and ensure I succeed.
